Sometimes plans just help you follow through on ideas you have long in advance. I learned a lot with last year’s December Daily, but one of my top lessons was plan ahead.
Because we were gone in Florida the first five days of December I couldn’t work on my album daily so I set up foundation pages and had a few “pocket stories” ready to go and in one case printed and in the album before I even left. I will definitely be doing similar kind of planning this year.

Kits: of course my own kit! I also bought the Paislee Press mini kit (some of you may have seen on my Instagram Stories that the green in this kit and the black and white plaid are the way my living room is decorated!) And I caved and bought Ali’s main kit even after saying I wouldn’t, mostly for those white numbers (and the rubber circles….) I do put together an album for my sister-in-law to document with as well, so I’m sure I will be able to use all this. I also have some of Liz’s digital kits from years ago that I would like to incorporate with her mini kit this year too, her designs for so well with her past work!
Album: I have the gold and white polka dot from Ali, and I’m slightly nervous. I’m not know for being careful and I’m worried it will get dirty as I work on the album. But it’s so pretty, I couldn’t resist.
Goals for this year:
More white space. Last year I didn’t let things rest. I look at it and realize I was TTH (trying too hard). I have found a much clearer scrap style in the last year so hopefully I can bring that over into my DD (although 6×8 can be tough!)
More peek through and layering. Again this goes to having developed my own personal style, I think it will be easier to do this year.
Cut the page protector! My 2014 album has several page protectors cut down, I forgot about that in 2015 and I want to bring it back!
Keep a clear color scheme through the album. I’m hoping to do a little better at this, my own kit is very much the main color scheme I’m hoping to be using, the elements from Liz & Ali’s kits that work with it will be included, but I’m hoping that I can keep the vision.
If you missed it on the weekend, I uploaded a video walkthrough of my album foundation pages for this year onto my YouTube channel. If you already watched it and commented, I am blown away by how kind and enthusiastic your responses have been! I love this project and am so excited to complete it again this year.
