I finished up my Day 8 late last night, so this post is coming to you a little later than usual.
First, a huge thanks to everyone coming over to the blog from the December Daily Facebook group. I am honestly so touched by all the comments and likes and I can hardly believe the traffic to my little corner of the internet this past week. So far I have been keeping up daily, and I’m hoping that this trend will continue, so welcome back and let’s get on with it.
I thought about changing the title of my post to “The one with the Stars” because I really did use all the stars for this page. First the stars that I cut out for the kid’s fort, and then the stars that I added to the layout. But is there really such a thing as too many? I don’t think so.
I started with some photos of the holiday fort I built for the kids yesterday. The photos were great, but I wanted to add something, so I layered the 6×8 with a star transparency from Studio Calico’s Brimfield kit and added the chipboard letters.
I cut some of the other photos I had down to act as inserts, especially because I wanted the long photo in the middle. The tab is an old download from Catherine Davis’ design editor blog, you can find them HERE.
Then the magic of the stars.
The journaling and final photo show the utter MESS that our family room was by the end of the day. Toys filled the fort, and then to top it off Max had one of the biggest pukes he’s had in a long time all over our bedroom the hallway and the bathroom. It seemed like a perfect day to embrace the mess and just enjoy it.
(for those new to my blog, my son was a micro-preemie and has struggled with eating for his whole life. He gets 100% of his nutrition from Pediasure and is still not completely over his habit of puking up everything he has eaten and more. If your baby has GERD, I am in your corner sister, and I would help you with your laundry…..)
