Day 11 has a subject that is close to my heart this year. We built our own rink last year and it was nice. This year, my husband went twice as big as last year and it’s beautiful. We had such great weather for establishing the rink that it was ready when we came home from our little trip in November and we were able to celebrate the first night of all of us skating on it with Chris’ brother’s family when they visited us, so already we had a lot of great special memories of our rink. Chris has also switched to a day shift instead of a night shift so we had a magical night last week where we were able to invite friends over and actually just visit around the fire.
I wanted to document the rink and Max’s final skating lesson of this session (which ended on Dec 10, not 11, so another example of using a “banked” story that I knew I wanted to tell and not really caring what number it ends up on). Here I used a 6×8 photo, Max’s ribbon (he passed Ice Cubes!! All the Pre-Can Skate levels have the most adorable names, I think level one was Snowflakes) and then a few 3×4 photos of the rink and a photo of Max’s chosen treat after skating lessons, A&W Root Beer. Our kid thinks that A&W is where everyone goes to celebrate things, and it’s kind of adorable.
The wood veneer 11 is Gossamer Blue, and the chipboard is Ali Edwards. Phrase stickers were in the Paislee Press DD kit.
Love that little grin.
