Wow! My December Daily package was delivered on Monday and my foundation pages were (mostly) done by Wednesday! I did spend a little bit of time last night working on some more time intensive product play, but for the most part, what you see here was done in about 1.5 hours as I opened and sorted my kits.
Here is the video, and because I know not everyone is into watching the whole thing I included some assorted thoughts here as well!
This year I did not purchase the main kit, it just didn’t fit with my plan for hygge this winter and how I wanted that to play out in my album. I’m focusing on black and white with the really bright red and as much natural texture as I can bring into it. I am adding wood, cork, and made my own set of journal cards that have some cozy textures in them as well.
I talk about it a little bit in the video as well, but I’ve sorted my supplies in a new way this year. Most of my Christmas stash is in a Recollections bin (with the divided carry all at the top), and the supplies that I know I want to use for sure are in a little wooden divided tray that I can carry around the house as I work on the album. I have WAY less in that tray than I have had in the past. In an effort to not fall into the trap of over-embellishing, and partly due to the fact that I did buy new product this year, but I don’t think I overbought new product.
I am looking forward to keeping it a little more simple, and embracing the minimalist aesthetic. I do still think that the way I do that will probably include some color, but I want to make good use of black and white photos this year (I think a lot of people are thinking that!) and printing all of my photos with white borders (as I do in regular Project Life).
To those of you who already subscribe to my YouTube and blog, thank you so much. Imagine my shock when I saw that I had 174 people following the blog last week when the last time I had noticed the number it was 4 (2 of which were me and my mom). I am so excited to share another December with you all! If you would like to be notified by email when I blog, you can enter your email address on the bottom toolbar (far right).
I am planning my November tradition of sharing a free cut file on Mondays, I will be starting the second Monday of the month, so you can also look forward to that! I will remember to share that here and on my Instagram!
